Geopark Ambassadors Day

On Friday 7 November 2025, Dover Castle will host the Geopark Ambassadors Day, a dedicated invitation-only gathering within the Cross-Channel Geopark Festival. Ambassadors from both sides of the Channel will come together to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and strengthen cross-border collaboration.

The theme of the day is climate change, exploring how ambassadors can promote sustainable tourism, conservation, and education while fostering cultural and economic resilience.

Highlights of the day include:

• Workshops and discussions on climate change, sustainability, and the future of the Geopark

• Geological tour of Dover Castle’s historic stonework, revealing the natural history behind the castle’s iconic structure

• Guided tour of Dover Castle, with a special focus for French GeoAmbassadors to deepen cross-channel connections

• Reading Table and display featuring books and printed material on the Geopark and its heritage in English and French, encouraging conversation, research, and sharing

• Opportunities to network, collaborate, and exchange ideas with fellow ambassadors

• Insights into how ambassadors can help shape future initiatives and support the UNESCO Global Geopark application
