European Heritage Days
Our Geosites are celebrating our heritage!
- 19 - 20 Sep 2026
On 19 and 20 September 2026, the European Heritage Days invite you to (re)discover the places, landscapes and craftsmanship that tell the story of our region.
From the military heritage of Mimoyecques Fortress and the Column of the Grande Armée, to the ceramic craftsmanship at the Desvres Museum, to the maritime traditions of Wissant and the Audomarois marshes, whilst taking in the historic centres of Boulogne-sur-Mer, Calais and Saint-Omer, the Geopark’s sites offer tours, exhibitions, talks and events.
This year’s theme, ‘Heritage at Risk: Revive, Resist, Reimagine’, resonates particularly strongly with our region: restoration, passing on traditional skills, preserving landscapes and reinventing heritage are at the heart of many initiatives.
In the spotlight: a workshop on local earth plasters
An opportunity to discover first-hand how local materials can help preserve and reinvent our built heritage.
